As reported by Change Inc, which cites Het Financieele Dagblad, PureTerra has brought in €30m from the European Investment Fund (EIF). The capital is for the firm's second fund.

    A single-sector fund

PureTerra says it is the only fund in the Netherlands that focuses entirely on innovative technologies for the water sector. Change Inc notes that the sector is coming under growing pressure, partly because of longer periods of drought caused by climate change.

    The numbers on fund two

Three figures frame the vehicle. The EIF has put in €30m. Invest-NL had already invested €10m in the fund. PureTerra is aiming for €125m in total for this second fund.

    Track record from fund one

This is PureTerra's second fund. Its first fund, at €73m, also invests in water technology. According to Change Inc, the financing went to companies including a Belgian business that uses sensors to measure groundwater levels and pollution in the water.

    Next step

PureTerra's stated goal for the new vehicle is €125m, and like its predecessor it is dedicated to water technology.
